Time to take a swim in the emerald-green pools under Erawan Falls! This 7-tiered waterfall, named after the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology, splashes through the evergreen forest that is waiting for you to explore.
Not yet sure where to travel after Erawan?
All you need is to pack some walking shoes, appropriate swimwear (bring a shirt to avoid curious looks), and water (a returnable deposit for bottles has to be made at the entrance to prevent littering). While the first three tiers are easy to reach, don’t miss out on the opportunity to climb the 2 km steep trail to reach the top tier.
It is recommended to start your day early in the morning to escape the crowds, enjoy the crystal clear water, and possibly spot some interesting jungle creatures on your hike.
If you enjoy trekking, you can embark on a 5 km long Khao Hin Lan Pee Trail with an official ranger (prices and arrangements can be made at the visitor center) to reach the fall’s 5th tier.
Still not getting enough of Thailand’s natural beauty? Tham Phra That cave in the park offers visitors twinkling and glimmering shapes of limestone.
The park is open daily from 8 AM to 4 PM. To get there, you can take a bus from Kanchanaburi to the park’s visitor center. The last bus back to Kanchanaburi leaves at 5 PM. You can also organize tours through hotels or travel agencies.
Hungry or thirsty? There are several restaurants and cafes around the parking area. You can also bring your food, but only until the 2nd tier of the waterfall.
If you wish to stay overnight, a campground with tent rental and bungalows is available, allowing you to spend the night in the heart of mother nature.
