Travel information about Koh Surin National Park

Good to Know
When you arrive at Ko Surin, the usual drop-off point is at Ao Kong Khad, which is southwest of the northern island of Ko Surin Nea. If you want to go further northwest to Ao Mai Ngnam, remember to inform the boat crew beforehand. It’s just a short longtail boat trip from the drop-off point.

Ao Kong Khad has a visitor center, restaurant, shop, campsite, and cottages. You can get camping equipment, snorkeling gear, and half-day tours at the reception. A more beautiful campsite can be found at Ao Mai Ngnam, which also offers a visitor center, shop, restaurant, and group cottages.

Keep in mind that there are no ATMs on the islands, so make sure to bring enough cash. Thai baht needs to be converted into the park’s currency (1:1) at the park reception in order to make purchases in the shops and restaurants. There is also a per-person park fee that must be paid upon arrival at the Surin Islands, payable at the park reception.

Due to the secluded nature of the Surin Islands, expect poor mobile connection and limited WiFi. However, you can find power plugs in the restaurant to charge your phone or camera. Please note that alcohol is not allowed on the island. Additionally, refrain from setting foot in the restricted areas of Ko Surin Nuea (except the camping area) and Ko Surin Tai (except for the Moken village).
