That's me!

One of my favourite things about traveling is giving every place the same chance to amaze me – that’s the essence of traveling for me.
I was born in Germany, in 1992. Like most people, I was taught to go to university, settle down, make a career, and succeed. I just never felt part of that society. During my studies I felt more lost than ever. But I had a plan. There was a time when I ran from one student job to the other. Every Euro I earned went to my savings account with the title ‘world travel’. I finished my master’s degree and in the same week, I took off with my backpack towards my idea of happiness and freedom.
Although I have been traveling my whole life – vacations, weekend trips, or month-long travels, this 3-year journey was different. Initially, I traveled to Asia for a year, followed by an extraordinary time in India that shaped my character and made me stronger as a woman. I caught a flight from Bangalore to Mexico, where I fell in love with Latin America. I literally fell in love when I met my wonderful partner Paul in Colombia (he is a native Ecuadorian).
I bought a motorbike in Medellin, drove off, and met Paul again in Peru, where we became a couple and started a daring and crazy 20.000 km journey on our two small motorbikes to the end of the world. Strictly speaking, Ushuaia, Argentina, is considered exactly this. It appeared somehow funny to Paul to ask me to marry him because he went until the end of the world for me – Latinos!
We sold the motorbikes (imagine cold weather, Patagonian winds, and animal crossings) and hitchhiked 10.000 km up to Sao Paolo, where we took a flight home to see my family.
These days, our life is anything but normal. We bought a van and converted it into a spacious backpack, and our dog Lulu is always along for the ride. We feel at home wherever we go, renting apartments in places that capture our hearts. We fall in love with places, people, and the cultures we encounter. I now live the life I choose—a life that makes me happy.
What else should you know about me? I appreciate the simple pleasures in life: being a minimalist, enjoying a cup of coffee, going for walks, cooking and enjoying good food. I love exploring museums and being creative. Overall, I spend my time wisely on the things I love.
